Time for a Change


Yep, stuffing our faces.  Can't deny the truth after seeing this photo!

"We really need to lose weight!"  We almost said it in unison. This was our recent reaction to seeing photographs of ourselves. 

Fran is a professional chef, I'm an avid cook, and we are engaged to be married.  From the very beginning of the relationship our mutual love of food and cooking was a large part of the attraction we felt for one another.  The activity we chose for our second date was cooking together!  And it was wonderful, but what happens when one is really skilled at cooking, AND loves to eat?  Right. Fat happened.

After seeing photographs of ourselves that spiraled us into a deep depression (not really, but close!), we knew we had to make some changes.  A brief outline of the changes we are currently trying to incorporate into our lives:

  1. Low carb food - more vegetables, less starch.  
  2. More activity - we joined a gym and are trying to make our lifestyle more naturally active
  3. Better quality sleep - trying to get a good night's rest is important in losing weight
  4. Supplements - I am taking amino acids to try to balance my brain!
 Hopefully these changes will equal weight loss for us both.  Our plan is to use this blog to document the journey and to share some recipes that make eating healthfully more delicious!
